Baby Steps

Another step on our adoption journey was completed today. We went and had our FBI fingerprints done.  Not a huge achievement but a step nonetheless. I kind of thought the "waiting" part wouldn't really happen until we were waiting on a birthmother to choose us, but I was wrong.  We have to wait on approval to move to the next steps.  Hopefully by the time we are just waiting to be selected by a birthmother we will be used to the waiting game. Maybe!?

On another note, I completed another step in my graduate school, my fourth semester. I realize graduate school is only supposed to take 2 years but unfortunately I still have a long way to go. I am only taking two classes per semester so it's going to be a while. Either way I have completed my first graduate level research class (took two in undergrad) along with a Poverty and Inequality in Social Policy class. In case you need to know anything about how our system does or doesn't help the poor and how to research programs and policies, I am your girl! I had quite the challenge this semester and figured out that I wrote 8 papers, took two exams, and gave two presentations.  I am very much looking forward to the next 12ish weeks off. Did I forget to mention that I don't take classes in the summer?;) O and I are going to have some quality time together and I couldn't be more excited about it! Already working on our summertime weekly activities thanks to my incredible MOPS group that put together a packet of all the fun and cheap/free things to do in the area.  I love planning!
